After a successful design project with Parsons The New School for Design in 2007, Nachtmannpartnered with the Pratt Institute in New York in 2010 to initiate a new design competition. Design student Alvaro Uribe was awarded a prize for his PETALS design. The organic design of the vase resembles delicate flower petals. The unusual surface structure combined with the brilliant crystal creates new, romantic light effects
